WELCOME TO
HIRANYA MANDALA.

HEALTH AND SOUL CULTURE ARE OUR SPECIALITY!

The South African based Hiranya Mandala School of  Yoga Integration and Meditation was founded in 2020 by Yogacharya Georgios Demetriades. The purpose of this school is to support people by promoting the universal practices of Hindu Yoga, leading to the integration of the body, mind and soul. The Samskrtam phrase 'Hiranya Mandala' translates into Golden Circle. The school's ethos is founded upon four pillars: (1)YOGA INTEGRATION, (2) BALANCE, (3) WELL-BEING, (4) SUPPORT.

The school's activities and services are all related to Yoga. We place much importance on this, and emphasise the universal teachings and practices of Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Tantra and Ayurveda.

Classical Hatha Yoga consists of an elaborate system of techniques that conduce to bodily purification. These include: asana, pranayama, bandha, mudra, and karana; which techniques, when practiced correctly result, mathematically, in a flexible, strong, disease-free and youthful body, and keener mind. In short, the practice of Hatha Yoga techniques constitutes a psycho-physiological realignment. Its higher purpose is the awakening of the dormant "lifetronic" energy (pranah) which supports the elevation of consciousness (citti), and also renders the body fit for the practice of meditation (dhyanam). Classes are differentiated, according to intensity, as Classic, Vinyasa and Yin.

Kriya Yoga meditation (dhyanam) is a unique approach, taught by the great 20th-century Kriya Yoga master Paramhansa Yogananda Giri, and which has its roots in a line of illumined and noble teachers, from India. Through regular, faithful and systematic practice of Kriya Yoga meditation, evolution of the subordinate human consciousness is hastened, and the body, mind and spirit are developed uniformly. In addition, one feels more relaxed, peaceful, joyful, becomes more efficient in life, and interpersonal relationships improve.

Online Bhagavad Gita Study

Monday 17:00 - 18:00

The holy Bhagavad Gita (“Song Celestial”) of the Sage Vyasa is the quintessential and immortal scripture regarding Yoga - the science of God-Realisation, and has endeared itself to generations of Truth-seekers worldwide. It consists of a dialogue between Yadava Krsna and his disciple the Pandava Prince Arjuna; occurring on the eve of the battle of Kurukshetra. Through its sublime and universal message, the Bhagavad Gita sets forth, by means of allegory, the systematic study of Yoga, and how the soul of man must retrace its steps towards liberation (moksha); awakening in Spirit. We study the Gita in the light of the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda Giri.
